1. Forming surface: This refers to the contact surface between the plastic mold and the convex mold when the mold is closed. The selection of its position and form is influenced by factors such as product shape and appearance, wall thickness, forming method, post-processing technology, mold type and structure, demolding method, and the structure of the forming machine.
2. Structural components: This refers to the sliders, inclined tops, and straight tops of complex molds. The design of structural components is crucial as it relates to the product's lifespan, processing cycle, cost, and product quality. Therefore, the design of complex core structures requires the comprehensive ability of the designer, striving for simpler, more durable, and more economical design solutions.
3. Mold accuracy: This includes avoiding jamming, positioning, guide posts, positioning pins, etc. The positioning system affects the appearance quality of the product, mold quality, and mold lifespan. Different positioning methods are chosen based on the mold structure. The control of positioning accuracy mainly depends on processing. The positioning of the inner mold is primarily considered by the designer, who should design a more reasonable and easily adjustable positioning method.
4. Pouring system: This refers to the feeding channel from the nozzle of the injection molding machine to the cavity, including the main runner, branch runner, gate, and cold cavity. In particular, the choice of gate position should facilitate the filling of the cavity with molten plastic under good flow conditions, and when opening the mold (excluding hot runner molds), the solid runners and gate cold material attached to the product can be easily ejected and removed from the mold.
5. Plastic shrinkage rate and factors affecting product size accuracy: Such as manufacturing and assembly errors of plastic molds, mold wear, etc. In addition, when designing compression molds and injection molds, the matching of the forming machine's process parameters and structural parameters should also be considered.
